In juxtaposition to wasteful mass production, uninspired product design and a "throw-away" culture, we established Semper House. Our goal is to make people's lives better and make the planet greener! Yes seriously!

"The design"

Items used on a daily basis including furniture, kitchen-ware, tools, technology etc - such products, when well designed, will generally go unnoticed, doing their job unobtrusively. On the other hand, a badly designed product can be the cause of daily irritation and annoyance, detracting from the precious day.

"Longevity"

We find, there is nothing more irritating than getting used to something working only to have it break just when you've "worn it in nicely". Often these failures are a result of corner cutting for ameliorated returns. Selecting the right materials for the work and combining them in the best manner possible is key. 

"Sustainability"

We would be foolish to disregard the strain we are placing upon our most precious resource; the Earth. To the highest level, wherever possible, we will source our raw materials from the most sustainable and trusted producers. If it does not effect utility or longevity, we will use the most environmentally friendly materials possible, including non toxic paints and material finishes. Finally, wherever possible, all sourcing will be local to reduce carbon footprint / miles traveled.

"Pleasure"

What is life without pleasure? People derive pleasure from many different things: elegance, warmth, texture. Items can be pleasing to the touch, to the mind or to the eye. If this does not detract from the utility or function of the item, then surely this is an added bonus! 

Through making products to our special formula, we believe our goals are achievable.
